Aesthetic Pre-Treatment Preparation


Preparing your skin properly before a professional treatment helps ensure the best possible results and a smoother, more comfortable experience. Below is a simple guide to help you get ready for your upcoming aesthetic appointment.


🌿 1. Keep Your Skin Calm

Avoid active skincare ingredients such as retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, benzoyl peroxide, and exfoliating scrubs for 14 days before treatment.

Keep your routine gentle: think hydrating cleansers, moisturisers, and SPF.

It is advised to use medical grade cosmeceutical products for best results   


☀️ 2. Protect Your Skin from the Sun

Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for 14 days prior.

Use SPF 40-50 daily to prevent irritation and reduce the risk of post‑treatment pigmentation.


🚫 3. Pause Certain Treatments

Avoid waxing, threading, laser treatments, or other resurfacing procedures for 4 weeks before your appointment.

Do not use self‑tanning products on the face during the week leading up to treatment.


💧 4. Hydrate Well

Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment.

Well hydrated skin responds better and heals more efficiently.


🩺 5. Health & Medication Considerations

Inform your practitioner of any medical conditions, recent changes in medication, or if you are prone to cold sores.

Some medications or topical treatments may need to be paused before your session.


🧴 6. Arrive With Clean Skin

Come to your appointment with no makeup, SPF, or heavy skincare products.

If you’re coming from work or another appointment, a gentle cleanse will be provided.

Your comfort and confidence matter. If you’re unsure about anything, products, timing, or what to expect reach out before your appointment. Preparing well helps ensure your treatment is safe, effective, and tailored to your skin’s needs.

Skincare Consultation

A consultation before your first aesthetic appointment is needed to ensure the treatment you are booking is suitable for you, and that you are aware of all guidelines for pre and post care you need to follow.

30 min - £25

This can be done online or in person, the £25 booking fee is redeemable against treatments, packages or products purchased on the day. 

Aesthetic Post Treatment Aftercare

Your skin will be more sensitive than usual after treatment, and proper aftercare is essential for comfort, healing, and achieving the best results. Follow these guidelines to support your skin in the days ahead.


🌿 1. Keep Your Skin Calm & Hydrated

Use only gentle, hydrating products for the first 3-7 days depending on treatment.

Avoid active ingredients such as retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C, or exfoliants until your practitioner advises.

Apply post treatment aftercare soothing products.


☀️ 2. Protect Your Skin From the Sun

Your skin will be more vulnerable to UV exposure.

Apply SPF 40-50 daily and avoid direct sunlight for 14 days.

No sunbeds or tanning products during the healing period.


🚫 3. Avoid Heat, Sweating & Swimming

Skip saunas, steam rooms, hot showers, and intense exercise for 72 hours.

Heat and sweat can irritate the skin and slow healing.

Do not swim for 14 days 


💧 4. Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water to support skin recovery from within.

Hydrated skin heals more efficiently and looks healthier.


🧴 5. Hands Off

Avoid touching, picking, or scratching the treated area.

If you experience mild flaking or peeling (common after some treatments), allow it to shed naturally.

Do not exfoliate until advised 


💄 6. Pause Makeup

Avoid makeup for 24-72 hours (dependent on treatment? 

When you resume, choose clean, non‑comedogenic products.

Mineral based skincare foundation is advised.


🩺 7. What to Expect

Mild redness, tightness, or sensitivity is normal for a few days.

Peeling may occur after certain treatments this is part of the renewal process.

If you experience anything unexpected or concerning, contact your practitioner promptly.


💬 8. Support Is Always Available

If you’re unsure about a product, sensation, or step in your aftercare, reach out anytime. Proper aftercare is key to achieving smooth, glowing, long lasting results.
